Honouring the late Queen Elizabeth II as well as the anniversary of her coronation in 1953 and the impending coronation of King Charles III, a display of commemorative handkerchiefs and scarves from past coronations were framed and hung in Gallery ’29.
"A King's Farewell" Handkerchief (1936)
This handkerchief reproduces the handwritten letter of King Edward VIII addressing the British People and the Commonwealth following his abdication which allowed him to marry Walis Simpson and move into exile as the Duke of Windsor.
Coronation Handkerchief (1937)
This silk handkerchief depicts King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. This handkerchief still has the original 1937 "All Silk" sticker on the bottom left corner.
Commemorative Handkerchief (1937)
This cotton handkerchief was created for George VI & Elizabeth and depicts the countries of the Empire in the four corners, Canada, India, South Africa, Australia. The King and Queen’s faces adorn the center of the handkerchief.

This rayon scarf depicts the new Queen Elizabeth II beside Prince Philip, with Prince Charles and Princess Anne surrounded by the principal residences of the monarchy and St. Paul's Cathedral.

Designed for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953, this rayon scarf depicts purple roses in the center flanked by the Royal coat of arms, Prince of Wales Feathers, Orb and Scepter, and the Crown. The border represents the Commonwealth countries
King Charles II Coronation Scarf (2023)
This silk scarf was purchased from the Highgrove Estate shortly after the coronation of King Charles II and Queen Camilla on May 6th, 2023.
