HOW YOU CAN DONATE

Donations for tax receipts

If you have a fashion treasure you would like to donate, the easiest way to begin the process is to take a photograph and email curator@fashionhistorymuseum.com with any relevant information (known history, labels etc.)

If the offer is of interest, the curator will arrange to see the donation in person, preferably at the museum. If the item meets our collection mandate, we will take the donation into the collection. Items not meeting our collection mandate may still be useful for us as either education material, props, or for fundraising for the permanent collection.

A tax receipt prepared by the museum is provided to all donors, although items of high value may require an outside evaluation, for which the donor bears the costs in exchange for a tax receipt.

Cash donations (Donate button below) are always welcome, and you can determine where you would like your donation to be spent - collection, research centre, operations... There are other ways you can help too - buying a book for the library helps to enrich our research collection (see link to Amazon Wishlist below) and your name will be written into a bookplate for posterity.
