The area was once an industrial hub of the Canadian textile and clothing industries, and was even home to the largest woollen mill in the British Empire.
Located in a former post office built in 1928, the museum is just north of the 401, halfway between the Hespeler Road and Town Line exits, in the former town of Hespeler, which was amalgamated into the city of Cambridge in 1973.
